An Explanation.
A meeting of the Rogue Warriors Guild Officers was called to address the issue of membership limits imposed in various WOW aspects.
WOW sets a limit of 500 individuals that can be listed on the guild list in the social tag, we as any of you who have checked recently have been quite near that limit for the past couple of weeks.
Such a limit being in place creates an issue in that the list can only show 500 members at any given time, the absentee names seeming to be chosen at random through the WOW servers.
Those absentees although still guild members do/would not show on the social tab to any members logged on at that time.
This situation poses 2 problems,
1 - Communications between guild members, the inability
to see or check who is online, who their alts might be etc.
2 - Felinya, when doing promotions relies on the
list she can access through the social tab, in order to keep promotions
as up to date and accurate as possible she needs to be able to see a full
and complete listing of all members in the guild.
The Officers of the guild in looking at the situation did so with certain criteria in mind, we did not want to cut membership down, nor did we want to freeze it in any way. (yes a temporary freeze was put on recruiting abilities but this will change back to the way it was once we have things organized).
Another solution that was suggested was the forming of another guild and the usage of the Guild Alliance addon to allow for joint communications between the two, the suggestion initially was that Officers with multiple Alts in the guild would transfer some of them to the new guild to free up spaces on the Rogue Warrior roster.
As it turns out, we did not in fact need to create an entirely new Guild, one of our GM Assistants, Weish happened to own a guild already (Nightspride) that was inactive, she was good enough to give the guild over to Rogurlean for the purposes of running it as an extension of The Rogue Warriors.
Rogurlean asked that I take over responsibility as GM of Nightpride which I did with my Alt Bastalaior, a mid/low level priest.
The guild now has the same tabard to match The Rogue
Warriors one.
It has at present 3 bank tabs and a limitted amount
of gold.
At present it's membership consists of a few Officer
Alts.
What this all means to the members of The Rogue Warriors.
It means that we can shortly return the ability to extend invitations to join the Rogue Warriors.
It means that the guild can not only continue as it has been but can also continue growing and evolving.
What it does not mean is that we will at any time try and force any member of The Rogue Warriors to limit their number of alts within the guild.
The Officers and structure of The Rogue Warriors will remain and function as it always has and this will be the same for Nightspride. Same rules, same beliefs, same everything.
As always, this action, the decision made by the Guild Officers was made for the betterment of The Rogue Warriors, and equally, as always, the future of both guilds, the paths they take and where they go will be based on both the betterment of the guild as awhole and what we, the officers perceive to be the will of the membership.
